There are two types of cellular respiration:
- External Cellular Respiration
- Internal Cellular Respiration
External Cellular Respiration:
It is an extracellular process in which the exchange of gases (O2 and CO2) takes place between the medium of circulation such as blood and the environment within the respiratory organ.
Internal Cellular Respiration:
It is intracellular process in which exchange of gases (O2 and CO2) takes place between body fluid (blood or tissue fluid) and the body cells.
