Role of Microbes in Human Welfare

Microbes in Human Welfare:

The microorganisms can be useful in different fields like food production, industrial fermentation, and agriculture production. Agricultural production in the present day should be without synthetic fertilizers and pesticides because both of them will be having the problem of biological magnification, hence the use of biological control and bio-pesticide has gained much popularity in the present-day world.

Role of Microbes:

1. Use of Microbes in Biological control: The use of microbes in order to control pathogenic pests is termed Biological control. They may include bacteria, viruses, protozoa, and fungi.

2. Use of Microbes as Biofertilizer: The different microbes may be active in the soil by fixing nitrogen or solubilizing phosphate. These organisms include bacteria cyanobacteria and vesicular, arbuscular mycorrhizae.
